At a February 4 press conference, Mayor Brandon Johnson urged assembled reporters to "tell the story of the people" in order to "make sure this country gets back on track."
The mayor's remarks came in reply to a reporter's question about what keeps him up at night.
In his answer, Mayor Johnson addressed the country's political moment and the presidential administration.
"What we have to do is be far more proactive, and dare to be bold and audacious," Johnson said. "Not this obsequious type of response . . . as if we are in servitude to this administration."
Inside Chicago Government has provided an audio excerpt of the mayor's comments.
