In this episode, we hear from members of the Chicago City Council Latino Caucus, who blasted a proposed independent commission for redrawing ward boundaries, at a press videoconference that took place on Jan. 27, 2021.
That redrawing of ward boundaries is required by state law to happen before the end of the year, and the Latino caucus were adamant that they should be involved. They were unhappy about a resolution introduced to the City Council that calls for the independent commission.
We'll also hear the response of Mayor Lori Lightfoot, given the same day at her own press conference, in which she took issue with the Latino Caucus.
